TICFF nominates Iran short

Iran film ‘Saad’s Olive Tree’ has been nominated to receive Best Dramatic Short Film Award from the 13th edition of Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival.

Directed by Ahmad Zayeri, the Iranian short film ‘Saad’s Olive Tree’ is to represent Iran at Taiwanese film event.

“Saad is a boy who loves football and has big dreams. He locks himself up at home after losing his vision and friends in a mortar explosion, prompting his mother to persuade him to stop living in seclusion,” a short synopsis of the flick read.

More than 80 films have been scheduled to be screened at the event.

Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF) was founded in 2004 by PTS (Public Television Service, Taiwan), aiming to provide Taiwanese children with a chance to have access to the latest creative works from around the world, exposing them to diverse cultures and broadening their international outlook.

As a biennial film festival, TICFF is the biggest film festival in Taiwan as well as in Asia dedicated to children 12 years old and younger. 

The 13th edition of Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival will be taking place from March 30th to April 7th, 2018 in Taiwan.
